The NSA Last Story Standing competition started here in the NSA Mountain West Chapter by Mike Brian, our 2023-2024 Chapter President. The inaugural competition was held in 2022 where Jodi Orgill Brown won our competition and was crowned the Mountain West NSA Champion.

Later that year at the NSA Thrive conference, Mike proposed the competition to the National President, Jamie Nolan who connected Mike to Candice York, who handles the major events for the National Speaker Association.

The rest is history. The first National Last Story Standing competition was held at the 2024 annual Influence Conference. It is now part of the NSA National strategy to improve professional speaker's skillset and grow interest in the National Speaker Association.

In 2024, another NSA Mountain West member, Michelle McCullough, won the Region 1 competition and competed at the national championship.
